Alpines & Perennials

Alpine plants (alpines) are those that grow in the alpine climate which occures at high elevation and above the tree-line.  Alpine plants have adapted to very harsh conditions; low temperature, dryness, ultraviolet radiation and a short season.

Perennial plants (perennials) is a plant that lives for more than two years.  This differentiates them from the shorter-lived annuals (one year) and biennials (two years).
